Four Dog Farm
Welcome!
Four Dog Farm sits on two acres in suburban Massachusetts. We are in zone 6a, although there are zone 7 pockets in my gardens as well as some pockets in zone 5. The soil is slightly sandy and contains quite a bit of glacial till. I grow thousands of daylily, lilium and iris cultivars, both revered classics and newly introduced plants by today's most prominent hybridizers.
I began hybridizing in 2015. Like so many, I first starting crossing pretty with pretty--not much concerned with the parentage or characteristics of the plant cross outside of a beautiful flower. Over the years, however, I clarified the goals of my hybridizing program. I focus my effort in two areas of flower phenotype: patterns and lush whites/pinks. My goal is to hybridize daylilies that sport beautiful flowers atop plants that exhibit great form, resist rust, and can thrive in all horticultural zones.
