2024 Introductions
Pantalaimon
Clear red violet with jagged lavender pink watermark and a golden yellow throat.
DIP, 30-31" scapes, 7" flowers, three way branching, 15+ buds per scape. Dormant.
Parentage: ((Carnelian Chameleon x Velvet Handcuffs) × Pink Stripes)
In Robert Pullman's novel The Golden Compass, Pantalaimon is the daemon (the embodiment of the soul) of Lyra, the book's protagonist. Pantalaimon changes animal form according to his moods and feelings. Like Pan, my Pantalaimon changes its appearance from day to day--sometimes light, sometimes dark, sometimes striped in purple and sometimes striped in jagged pink. No matter what her coloring, though, she is always striking and beautiful.

Pinkalicious
Hot pink with feathered pale pink watermark and white edge over a chartreuse to green throat.
Tet. 31" scapes, 7" flower, 4-way branching, 16-20 buds per scape. SE
Parentage: Nan Wilkerson x Monster Quest
Pinkalicious reminds me of a decadent piece of pink-frosted birthday cake. She looks delicious! Her scapes are strong and her flowers have a thick substance. Here in New England she blooms for a four week stretch in July.

Christina Tamsin Holt
Rich tomato red with pink watermark and green throat, with pale yellow ruffled edge.
Tet, 30" scapes, 6.5" flower size, 4-way branching, fragrant, SE
Parentage: Libby Hickman x Red Edition
Christina Tamsin Holt is named for my sister who died tragically and way too young in April of 2022. Christina was a spitfire--a live wire full of laughter, love and spirit. Like Chris, this daylily is robust and rich with vibrant color. She lights up the garden as Chris lit up any room she entered with verve and positive energy.

Yelloween
Golden yellow with deeper yellow throat and heavily ruffled edge.
Tet, 26" scapes, 6.5" bloom, 3- way branching, 10-15 buds per scape, SE.
Parentage: Dixie Highway x Mary's Gold
There are a lot of yellow daylilies out there, but I dare say none so rich in deep, golden ruffles as Yelloween.

Floyd Pepper
Deep crimson red with yellow throat and ruffled, golden yellow edge.
Tet. 27" scapes, 6" flower, 4-way branching and 21-25 buds per scape. SE.
Parentage: Lions and Tigers and Bears x Big Red Wagon
Remember The Muppets? Floyd Pepper was the bass player for the muppet rock band Electric Mayhem, and the adoptive father of the infamous Animal. Like Floyd, my Floyd Pepper is the "hippest of the hip"--rocking the garden with his rich crimson flowers, enormous bud count and unceasing blooming.

The Dark is Rising
Wine purple with velvety black eye and green to yellow throat.
Tet. 26" scapes, 5.5" flower, 3-way branching, 20-24 buds per scape. SE.
Parentage: Dark Music x Spacecoast Firestarter
The name The Dark is Rising is taken from Susan Cooper's middle grade epic fantasy of the same name. Like the dark forces in Cooper's novel, this daylily is a strong, rich in velvety darkness, and a powerful force in the garden. It blooms for literally five weeks straight in my New England garden, putting up scape after scape of beautiful, purple-black color.
